Consumer Protection: Buyers of the property have access to information related to the project, including layout plans, site plan government approvals, and the stage-wise completion schedule.

Grievance Redressal: In each state, RERA authorities are empowered to address the issues related to the real estate sector to provide an efficient solution

RERA Uttar Pradesh

UP RERA is the regulatory body responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the RERA Act in Uttar Pradesh. The state has adopted specific rules under the Act, catering to the local real estate market’s nuances.

Registration Requirements:

Developers: Real estate projects having more than 8 apartments and land area exceeding 500 square meters are a must to be registered in UP RERA.

Real Estate Agents: It is mandatory for all real estate agents involved in the sale & purchase of properties to be registered in UP RERA.

UP RERA provides a platform for consumers to file complaints against developers or agents. The authority has the power to impose penalties, including fines and imprisonment, on errant developers and agents for non-compliance with RERA regulations.
